There is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to giving through Nikau Foundation. While some choose to establish an individual fund based on their interests, others choose to give as a family, create a fund as an organisation or leave a gift in their will.

Creative Kāpiti Fund
The Creative Kāpiti Fund aims to foster and support Kāpiti’s vibrant arts scene. Established by the Creative Kāpiti Charitable Trust, the fund aims to promote and encourage participation in the arts.
Kāpiti Disability Support Fund
Transferred to Nikau Foundation in 2021, the Kāpiti Disability Support Fund aims to provide sustainable support to disabled communities, making sure they have the tools and resources to thrive.
Nikau Kāpiti Fund
Established by a group of local individuals, The Kāpiti Fund aims to encourage connection in the local community, foster youth development and support local capacity and resilience building.

Enriching the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.
Creating opportunities for competition and inclusivity, Special Olympics Kāpiti enriches the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through sport. Nikau Foundation was delighted to provide a grant to support travel and accommodation costs for the National Summer Games.
Fostering a sense of kinship.
Founded in 2006 with the goal of promoting the social, economic, political and environmental interests of Te Ātiawa iwi, Te Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai Charitable Trust also focuses on fostering a sense of kinship and connectedness within the community.
Innovative projects for a cleaner, more self-sufficient Ōtaki.
Propelled by the collective passion of locals, volunteers and partners, Kāpiti-based not-for-profit, Energise Ōtaki Charitable Trust is helping locals to reduce their energy use, save money and decrease dependency on imported energy.
A valuable asset for the future of Ōtaki.
Established to honour the generosity of past, present and future Rotarians, the Rotary Club of Otaki Fund was set up to create a lasting legacy for Otaki. In the spirit of the Rotarian motto, ‘service above self’', the Fund will give back to the community in many ways.
